INTEGRATED CARE

Massage and chiropractic
working together

At Zock Family Chiropractic, massage therapy and chiropractic care are designed to complement each other. Soft tissue work before adjustment reduces muscle guarding and prepares the body for spinal correction. The result is typically a more effective adjustment and longer-lasting relief.

You can schedule massage as a standalone appointment or coordinate it with your chiropractic visit. Dr. Zock and Dr. Lauren communicate directly with the massage therapists to ensure your care is consistent and coordinated.

  • Myofascial release — addresses fascial restrictions limiting movement
  • Trigger point therapy — releases referred pain patterns in muscle tissue
  • Soft tissue mobilization — improves circulation and tissue quality
  • ASTYM technique — stimulates tissue remodeling in chronic conditions

WHO IT HELPS

Therapeutic massage is not just for athletes

Massage therapy at Zock Family Chiropractic serves a wide range of patients — from athletes in active recovery to office workers managing chronic neck and shoulder tension to patients working through a musculoskeletal condition alongside chiropractic care.

Chronic pain and tension

Patients managing chronic back pain, neck tension, headaches, and shoulder tightness often find that massage addresses the soft tissue component of their pain in a way that adjustment alone cannot. Regular massage as part of an ongoing care plan helps maintain the gains made through chiropractic treatment.

Post-injury and post-surgical recovery

Soft tissue work during recovery reduces scar tissue formation, improves circulation to healing tissue, and restores normal movement patterns. Joe’s background in physical therapy makes him particularly effective with post-orthopedic patients.

Occupational and postural strain

Commuters, desk workers, laborers, and anyone whose daily work puts sustained load on their body benefit from regular soft tissue treatment. Cumulative strain in the neck, shoulders, and lower back responds well to therapeutic massage — particularly when combined with chiropractic correction of the structural component.

What Patients Describe

Conditions that respond well to therapeutic massage

Back Pain

Lower, mid, and upper back pain — massage addresses the soft tissue tension that compounds spinal joint dysfunction and limits recovery.

Neck & Shoulder Tension

Chronic tightness from desk work, commuting, or posture — myofascial release and trigger point therapy reduce referred pain and restore range of motion.

Sports & Soft Tissue Injuries

Sprains, strains, and overuse conditions — soft tissue mobilization improves circulation to injured tissue and reduces scar tissue formation during recovery.

Headaches & Postural Strain

Tension headaches and cumulative strain from physical labor or prolonged sitting — trigger point therapy releases the muscle patterns that drive referred head and neck pain.
